A Note on Accessibility

A barrier-free entrance to the MSU Union is located on the west side of the building off of Abbot Road. There is a circular driveway for drop-offs at this entrance. To the right of the doors, a ramp will take you into a room with an elevator on your left. An additional elevator can be found next to the Postal Service Center on the first floor.

Rooms for Nursing Mothers

When entering the Union from the West Circle Drive entrance, the woman’s restroom is located through the lounge on your right. Right before you enter the restroom, there are two Mother’s Rooms available for those who need it.

Gender Neutral Restroom

There is a gender neutral restroom available on the ground floor of the Union.

Parking

Parking on Campus

Metered parking is available outside of the MSU Union for a limited number of hours. Be sure to pay attention to the time limit and rates for your specific meter.

Located on West Circle Drive, Ramp 6 is conveniently close to the MSU Union. Visitors may park here using only available “Pay By Plate” spots. The machine accepts multiple forms of payment, including cash, coins, and credit cards, however it does not make change. You can also pay and extend your time using the Spot On app.

Located south of the Red Cedar River, Lot 62w is only ten minutes away from the MSU Union and nearby the MSU Main Library. The parking rate is $0.90 per half hour for visitors, higher than the rates in downtown East Lansing.

Parking in Downtown East Lansing

Across Grand River Ave., there are plenty of parking options including the Albert Ave. Lot, the Grove St. Garage, the Charles St. Garage, the Division St. Garage, and the Bailey St. Lot. These attended parking options run at the rate of $0.75 per half hour. More information can be found using the City of East Lansing’s Downtown Parking Guide.

Hotel

The conference hotel is now fully booked. Other affordable options in the area (that require transportation to the symposium site) are the Holiday Inn Express & Suites East Lansing and the Towneplace Suites East Lansing. If these suggestions don’t have available rooms, there are a number of additional hotels in the area to check out.

The Symposium has arranged for a group rate at the East Lansing Marriott at University Place at the rate of $156/night. The group information is as follows:
